Hello my dear friends! Blogger has been good to me for years, but my needs have outgrown its capabilities, so a virtual move was unavoidable.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope you continue to visit me, and subscribe to my posts by email over at my new virtual home:</div>

I'm still learning the new Wordpress theme platform, but for the most part the main 'furniture' is set up for you to stop by, read, and comment.</div>

<b>Title: <i>U have my {heart} on a string...</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: left;">
This layout took a life on its own from my original inclinations. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I began the process of scrapping this page with a title in my mind. It's no secret in our family that our youngest knows how to push my buttons. And just as I'm about to lose it, he'll find a clever way of melting the tense situation as was in this photo. He grabbed a leaf and ripped the top into a shape of a heart. Of course that leaf paired with an "I love you!" just melted me. He can be a real stinker, but moments like these make up for all the attitude.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Going with the "U have my heart on a string" title theme, I remembered I had some of the Jillibean Soup spool patterned paper; Along with the kraft silly string paper from the same manufacturer and the addition of messy thread which looks like it's unraveling off the spools, I think the repetition of these elements reinforce the 'heart on a string' theme very well. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Also, I trimmed the top of the cardstock leaf and threaded that on the messy string to further echo the story. The woodgrain pattern paper serves to anchor the photos, and interestingly enough it looks like a tree trunk with the spool tops and thread for leaves.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The polaroid frame was cut with the Silhouete Cameo.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Below are a few more close ups.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thanks for visiting me, and I hope you leave me a comment!</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #38761d;">Apie vartotus simbolius... Skrebuką pradėjau (kaip beveik visus pradedu) su aiškiu pavadinimu <i>prieš </i>pradedant skrebinimo procesą. Išvertus į lietuvių kalbą būtų panašu į: "<i>Tu laikai mano širdį and siūlelio</i>". Kad atkartoti siūlų temą, pradėjau surinkti visus raštuotus popierius, raizgytos formos skylamūšį bei siuvimo siūlus. Taip pat vartojau popierinį medžio lapą kuris pravertas adata ant siūlo sekmingai atkartojo pavadinimo esmę.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #38761d;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #38761d;"> O istorija tokia....
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">(photo from <a href="http://www.threadless.com/product/1466/Now_Panic_and_Freak_Out/tab,guys/style,shirt" target="_blank">threadless.com</a>)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">When I've started this blog, it was with a clear intention of sharing <i>only</i> my artwork and other crafty creations - personal matters would stay out.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">However, there's a looming change for our family in the horizon, and if I wait untill I have hand-made something to share, well, my readers would wait a long time and thus abandon me.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So the big news is that just a few days ago we have signed to build our new dream home. Initially I was on the fence about the proposition of moving, but a promise of a larger art room with a (gasp!) walk-in closet for my art supplies was just an offer I could not refuse.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now I am panicking and freaking out: Our kids just started school and have their own schedules and needs; we still have our current house to fix-up, stage, and put on the market, as well as the overseeing of the new construction.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My plan is to share the week-by-week process of the construction of our dream home. It'll also serve me as a journal when I condense this material into a mini album.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Have any of my readers gone through building their own home? I hope you'll leave a comment and share some advice.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hope to hear from you!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Having a dedicated home photo printer seems to be paying off in terms of encouraging scrapping of the latest photos sitting in my camera. These are technically substandard quality snapshots, yet when reduced in size, it perfectly captures the unstylized moments of real family life.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So if you have not thought of printing photos from your iPhone or a point-and-shoot camera, I urge you to reconsider!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another challenge I've set for myself while scrapping this page is to use nontraditional colors for a July 4th theme - meaning no red, white & blue. Not that this decision was arrived purposefully - it's just that the traditional color scheme really clashed with the dominant aqua and purplish hues in the photos.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Some detail...I'm really getting a lot of use of The Crafter's Workshop 'stars' stencil; Also, after punching the border, I've collected the punched stars and glued them on for extra dimension; I've added lots of tangled messy fibers with star sequins to add to the explosive, dynamic feel.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is my 'ode to Anthropologie' layout. Entering through it's doors I'm transported to a kingdom of sensory delights. I can literally spend a whole day there absorbing all the smells, colors, textures and patinas. When I return home, I'm aways inspired to create. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This last time I was there, I've noticed quite a few men camped out on the couches reading the provided coffee-table books. I thought, genius! Anthro makes the men comfortable while their ladies shop because they'll have to wait....and wait...and wait.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made this page in response to a <a href="http://ashleycalder.blogspot.ca/2012/06/pin-in-inspired-by-pinterest-challenge.html" target="_blank">pin-in challenge</a> organized by Ashley Calder. The idea is to use home decor as inspiration for a scrapbook layout.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The following photo is not from Pinterest, actually I scanned a page from the Anthropologie catalogue. I've saved numerous of these catalogues from over the years, and leafing through the pages, it never fails to inspire me to create.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRojHYhMt9pNWwbJ88encClhMBb53k4Br-o-Vq7vntLCtQGEmIvqK81HCGfC3N4_L33P5dueINWNengRmB440nPznj9qWi9isOHf0zhQ6AXcQ5lq9gpdQF6YNGspfZAD4NgjNU09QgDg/s1600/anthro-catalogue.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRojHYhMt9pNWwbJ88encClhMBb53k4Br-o-Vq7vntLCtQGEmIvqK81HCGfC3N4_L33P5dueINWNengRmB440nPznj9qWi9isOHf0zhQ6AXcQ5lq9gpdQF6YNGspfZAD4NgjNU09QgDg/s400/anthro-catalogue.jpg" width="281" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What I loved about this page is a vibrant plum-pink color dress set against a bold black & white print couch. The plum-pink color seems to pop off the page vibrantly. I directly interpreted this idea by pairing the pink orchids and other pink details on my scrappy page, with the black & white striped trim.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the first photo I've printed with my new, portable <b>Epson PictureMate</b>. Going on for years now, I've been saying that I'll NEVER print at home. After all, Costco photo center is a 7 min. drive from my house. However my photo use habits revealed an interesting fact. Namely that I can have a gigantic stack of just-from-the-lab printed photos, yet the photo I want to scrap <i>now</i>, is not yet printed (at times it has not even been photographed yet). I'd see an online challenge, or get an idea for a photo shoot and take that photo right then, and get so inspired to scrap that photo. Yet if I put off ordering the photo or pick up at the lab for later, that inspiration leaves me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I got this Epson PictureMate for these sporadic scrapping sessions. It prints maximum 4x6 size, which is exactly the photo size I prefer to scrap, or I can fit a few wallet-sized prints on a 4x6. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For enlargements, I'll order online and pick up at Costco. But since I seldom use large format photos, this mini printer turned out to be a perfect fit for my scrapping photo-needs. I am thrilled with it! (...in case anyone is wondering, No, I'm not getting any monetary gain from promoting this printer).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In the photo above, I've placed a ruler to show scale; The printer is just 8" wide.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>What about my readers? How many of you print your photos at home?</i></div>

<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #a64d79;">Skrebuko pavadinimas: Anthro: Parduotuvė kuri puikiai žino moteris ir pasirūpina vyrų komfortu...</span></b></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #a64d79;">Parduotuvė <a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/index.jsp" target="_blank">Anthropologie</a> tai lyg meniškom peteliškėm lempos šviesa nuo kurios neįmanoma atsisukti.

Pavaizduotoj nuotraukoj viršuj man patiko poravimas tokios ružavos/slyvos spalvos su juodai/baltu raštu. Savam skrebuke ružavos orchidejos nuotraukoj, bei kitos detalės dar labiau atšoka suporuotos su juodai/balta dryžuota juostele.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #a64d79;">***</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #a64d79;">Ši nuotrauka tai esa pirma kurią spausdinau su nauju mini<b> Epson PictureMate</b> nuotraukom skirtu printeriu. Pamenu kiek metų sakiau kad niekad, <i>niekad</i> namie nespausdinsiu nuotraukų. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #a64d79;">Paanalizuodama savo skrebinimo tendencijas, pastebėjau kad nors esu laboratorijoj atspausdinus krūvą nuotraukų, kada prisėdu skrebinti visad noriu skrebinti būtent tą kuri esa šviežia ir dar nespausdinta. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #a64d79;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #a64d79;">Esu labai patenkinta šiuo printeriu.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #a64d79;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

It seems there was a lot of poetry recitals when I was growing up in Lithuania: you want a gift from Santa - recite him a poem (which you spent all day memorizing); Kindergarten graduation party - recite another poem. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I never liked being in a spotlight involving the task of addressing a larger audience - not much has changed even now.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Interesting thing I see in this photo (I'm the one on the right with a wide stance and the proverbial 'birdie'), is that both of my kids get just as nervous and start wringing their hands when they have to speak in front of others. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This page was inspired by my dress. It was an import from a german base which our neighbor and parents' friend got for my me. The general public at the time of communist-occupied Lithuania did not have access to german shops, so most girls wore home-sewn dresses. This dress was unique and hemmed over and over until I can no longer wear it. I felt like a doll in it!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Remembering this german dress, I also remembered that I recently went on a eBay shopping spree for german Dresden foil elements. It was time to start using my stash!</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #0b5394;">Vienas iš mano aiškiausių vaikystės prisiminimų tai kad labai dažnai tekdavo deklamuoti eilėraščius: nori kad Senis Šaltis tau įteiktų dovanėlę - kainuos eilėraštį; Darželio išleistuvės - ir vėl eilėraščiai.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #0b5394;"><br /></span></div>

</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #0b5394;">Taigi, prisimindama vokišką suknytę, prisiminiau kad neperseniausiai iš eBay prisipirkau vokiškos Dresdeno reljefinės folijos. Atėjo laikas panaudoti folijos lobyną.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Can you believe it's been since Sept. 2011 since I've hosted my last <b>Random Inspiration Challenge</b>! Aptly named so, since my inspiration to host them is...well, random.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yet I've really missed the excitement of seeing everyone's interpretation - how a single idea can spark so many different versions.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So without further ado, lets resuscitate the tradition of Random Inspiration Challenges!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's the requirements to participate:</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li><b><i>Theme: <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #f1c232; font-size: large;">Metallic</span> finishes:</i></b> use glitter, tinsel, metallic embossing powder, aluminum foil, metallic paint (acrylic or spray mist), metal leafing technique, scrapbooking metal embellishments (think metal frames, brads, silver foil sheets). The metallic finish should be the <i>focal and predominant </i>element on your page.</li>
<li>Create a <i>scrapbook page </i>or an <i>art journal page</i> (no cards or home decor items please).</li>
<li>Link your creation with inlinkz feature at the bottom of this post by <b>July 12, 2012</b>.</li>
<li>A winner will be picked out of a hat by one of my lovely assistants.</li>
<li>This contest is open to all - I'll ship the prize internationally.</li>
<li>I offer to you a humble prize of Scrappy Cat - Antique Monogram clear alphabet stamps (see below photo). </li>
<li>Have fun!</li>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #0b5394;">Sunku patikėti kad paskutinis mano rengiamas 'Random Inspiration Challenge' iššūkis buvo rengiamas rugsėjo 2011m.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #0b5394;">Ištiesų labai taikliai pavadinau šį konkursą 'random' kadangi būtent taip ir rengiu - kada man užplaukia įkvėpimas.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #0b5394;">Manau atėjo laikas atgaivinti šį konkursą kadangi kada rengdavau šiuos konkursus man tai būdavo savotiškas spyris dažniau skrebinti.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #0b5394;">Tai gali būti metalo atspalvio dažai (akriliniai bei purškiami); 'gold leafing' folija, aliuminio folija, skrebinimo metalo detalės (rėmeliai, vinukai, akytės, ir t.t). Būtina kad šis elementas - metalas dominuotų jūsų kūriny. Įjungite savo vaizduotę ir nustebinkite mus netipišku sprendimu.</span></div>

This must be one of the most simplistic and minimalist pages that I've done in the history of my scrapbooking endeavors. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The 'Testimony' portion of Case No.25 prompted me to: "*<i>Document your home</i>, and <i>*Tell the history of something.</i>" For this page I chose to document the history of how we got our first house, and the emotions felt at that time. The polaroid was provided to us by the real-estate agent as we were touring homes, and I held on to it until it asked me to document its history.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I finished this layout just an hour before the challenge closed. This came at a price, namely, that the kids played Wii sports for hours. I didn't feel guilty much though, because lately I had fallen off the scrapping wagon and found it difficult to get back to scrapbooking. I find that participating in challenges really motivates me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So for this page the title 'his comforter' has a double meaning; In a direct manner, big brother is his little brother's reassuring comforter, in another way the 'comforter' is a blanket (which I suggested by the use of the crochet granny square). So, it may be derived from the title that big brother's care and love is as comforting as a blanket.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was going for a home-spun, kitsch style of scrapping. Again, I reach for the woodgrain for my base (I think I use woodgrain patterned paper more than kraft or any other solid cardstock).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The book page came from a 1940's children's story book. It pained me to start ripping it apart, but I did buy it with the intention of using it for scrapping.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Here's a new <a href="http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/forum/topics/case-file-no-24-case-closes-on-june-24-2012" target="_blank">Color Stories Inspiration Case No.24</a>, and my interpretation of it...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I must admit that when I got this color palette to work with I panicked - to me it seemed feminine with the pink and red colors, and I already had my mind made up that I will scrap a photo of my boys. I let the photo of the 'ice princess' be my guide, and she inspired a winter-themed page of my boys.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Along the required use of the color palette, I also incorporated the following suggestions:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li><i>Evidence:</i> I've used jewels, silver accents, sparkly and shimmery details such as adhesive crystals, rhinestones, clear sparkly button, silver mini alpha stickers; Instead of gesso, I've used white shimmer mist to splatter some droplets to suggest snow (this effect is difficult to see in the photo). Finally, for the circle use, I've cut out circles in the foundation paper and also stamped a circle journaling spot.</li>
<li>Testimony: I've added jewels to my journaling spot, <i>and </i>journaled inside a circle.</li>
</ul>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</span></div>

This photo of me was taken on October 7, 2001 - a day before my wedding on the ocean shore of Kauai, Hawaii. The picture was taken with my 1st SLR 35mm film camera (I feel vintage just saying that :):), so I had to scan the film negative into a digital file and then print it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Below you'll see how I got around the issue of not having enough space to journal. I typed it up on a separate piece of paper and attached a 'pull' tab; This way when I place this letter behind the layout in the page protecktor, it'll be easy to pull it out and read it....</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I've been a lazy blogger or scrapper in general. I don't want to have this blog of mine sit idle, therefore I figured I'll post a short update on how the poppies which I've stitched and shown you on a <a href="http://irmaperedne.blogspot.com/2012/03/just-update.html" target="_blank">previous post</a>, got framed. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was not easy to pick out appropriate frames, and I really did not care for the sample framing option included in the kit's photo...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKaIjsBypANogi2rAtcyHQ88yV8wV1tpKU8SnehnF87oew7n29JZGWr4I1vIWEzrdOQ5O_WjHzcNJiXUhszcanaAQDpbk-8Ui4HNzFdBK47TGWF5SKetmhVoLxgBA4vH01oftsm0k12w/s1600/poppies-kit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKaIjsBypANogi2rAtcyHQ88yV8wV1tpKU8SnehnF87oew7n29JZGWr4I1vIWEzrdOQ5O_WjHzcNJiXUhszcanaAQDpbk-8Ui4HNzFdBK47TGWF5SKetmhVoLxgBA4vH01oftsm0k12w/s400/poppies-kit.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I think the black frames really overpowered the delicacy of the poppies, and the salmon colored matting, just washed out the redness of the flowers.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm glad with my choice of weathered, unpolished frame and a green fabric-linen covered matting. It adds to the organic feel of the subject matter - the poppies. My photo does not adequately show the roughness of the frames, but I have to be careful I don't get a splinter handling these frames! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
What do you think of my choice? I hope you let me know,</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
P.S. I've got them framed at Pat Catan's Craft Center (which I think is regional only to Ohio?)</div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #38761d;">Kadangi pastaruoju metu labai aptingau skrebinti ir aplamai 'bloginti' - t.y. kūrti įrašus bloge, pagalvojau kad blogas nemerdėtų geriau ką nors, bent ką parodyti. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #38761d;">Šį kartą vėl rodausi su aguonomis, bet jau įrėmintomis. Jei pamenate, jau anksčiau rodžiau aguonas<a href="http://irmaperedne.blogspot.com/2012/03/just-update.html" target="_blank"> šiame</a> įraše.

Imagine my surprise when Debbi Tehrani of <a href="http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/" target="_blank">CSI: Color Stories Inspiration</a> asked me to be their guest designer for the month of June. Of course I said 'Yes!,' and got busy creating the assigned case files for the month.</div>

Here's a close-up of the embellishment clusters. The resin shell (and starfish overlay) is from K & Company. I've used this shell embellishment assortment for most of my marine themed pages, this shell being the last one in the variety set (got to get some more). The sand dollar is a real one (from The Shoppe at Somerset).</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The journaling is difficult to read due to the antique typewriter. It's typed with a Royal Portable typewriter c. 1930s. Some of the letters, especially the lower case 'e', are not a crisp type, but resemble an 'o'. I've learned to bypass this illegibility by using both upper and lower case letters in a single word.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The title refers to the effect the youngest one's personality has on me: "Adam you are like a 3x of espresso, while Omar is like 'Sleepy time' tea. It is the most succinct analogy :)</div>

It's the newest version of the electronic cutting tool <b>Silhouette Cameo</b>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For those of you that are not familiar with this tool, it electronically cuts any true type Word font up to 13" wide. Obviously, the biggest advantage of this machine over other cutting tools is that you do not have to buy separate and pricy cartridges or dies - it hooks up to your PC or Mac and cuts out the image for you on variety of surfaces: card stock, patterned paper, vinyl, and canvas.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now getting back to my layout, I've cut out the word '<i>family</i>' as a continuous, single word - no more gluing letter by letter as one has to do using die cut letters or stickers. I found the Cameo simple to use, and I look forward to using it more often.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This page is rather simple in its mostly monochromatic approach to give center stage to the photos. </div>

Tokiu būdu įmanoma nustatyti reikiamus matmenis, šriftą, ir netgi iškirsti vientisą žodį pavyz. kaip pavaizduota mano skrebuky (žodis '<i>family</i>').

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #7f6000;">Apie skrebuką...Šį kartą jis įkvėptas Jenni Bowlin firmos raštuoto popieriaus pagrindo ant kurio 'Love This' Bingo žaidimo kortelės buvo jau atspausdintos. Kadangi tai Core'Dinations popierius - kuris pasižymi galimybe nutrinus paviršių atskleisti skirtingos spalvos pagrindą - aš pabraukiau su švitriniu popierium kraštus bei numerius ant kortelių, kad atskleisti smėlio spalvos pagrindą po baltu paviršium. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #7f6000;">Pasirinkau blankias spalvas kad daugiausia dėmesio akys skirtų nuotraukom. Sakyčiau kad man toks minimalizmas nebūdingas, bet juk ne kiekvienas skrebukas reikalauja romano :) </span></div>

<a name='more'></a>I made this mixed-media page for Kuretake's design team prompt to make blossoms using Kuretake pens. As well, this layout is also made for the Color Stories Inspiration (CSI) Case No. 15.<br />
<br />
First, a few close-ups...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRajUANuaz2GiOMuH07yOykhA971UlEc78Nh1QwnIudkKL7qvdn9cyhgxfxUTHvXOZqGz6DpyHA63TaVo9RPQBTgmu82GFdZqk1jFHCTs-gQd6SFUkEv2sRSTeywEUkSPB0Ez24KGh-g/s1600/IMG_9247.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRajUANuaz2GiOMuH07yOykhA971UlEc78Nh1QwnIudkKL7qvdn9cyhgxfxUTHvXOZqGz6DpyHA63TaVo9RPQBTgmu82GFdZqk1jFHCTs-gQd6SFUkEv2sRSTeywEUkSPB0Ez24KGh-g/s400/IMG_9247.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The honey comb pattern was made using modeling paste and a rubber stamp. After the paste had hardened, the honey comb was painted with acrylic paint. Also, you can see a close-up of the multi-layered linden tree blossom which I had made for the Kuretake challenge.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Below is a tutorial on how to make such bossoms...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>The materials you need for this project are:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Kuretake marker of choice (I've used a green, shimmery 'Wink of Stella marker).</li>
<li>Flower punch in small, various sizes (the one shown in the photo is by Martha Stewart Crafts).</li>
<li>Cardstock</li>
<li>Flower stamen (floral deptartment of craft stores).</li>
<li>Large diameter needle or yawl</li>
<li>Round-tip stylus</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Glue</li>
<li>Mouse pad</li>
</ol>
<b>Here are the steps involved in the making of these linden tree blossoms:</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Punch out the desired number of blossoms from cardstock, set aside.</li>
<li>Snip the end of the doube stamen, and color the entire stamen green. Also, at this time color the blossom centers with green sunburst pattern.</li>
<li>Place the blossoms on a mousepad, and with a round-tip stylus press and roll from center out to each petal, thereby giving the flower dimension.</li>
<li>Next, layer the blossoms, from large to small on top, and when centered pierce a hole in the center with the needle/yawl.</li>
<li>Thread the stamen through the layers of blossoms, and flip over so you are looking at the underside of the blossom.</li>
<li>Place a drop of glue with a tip of your needle/yawl to the underside of the blossom where the stamen meets the bud. Let dry.</li>
</ol>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope you find this tutorial useful, let me know!</div>

Besides the given <i>color scheme</i>, I've also used for the '<i>Evidence'</i>:</div>

*Stacking/layers (layers of mixed media and 3D embellishment clusters)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
*Foliage (Linden tree foliage print on the journaling notecard as well as hand-made flowers and leaves).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

For the '<i>testimony</i>' section of the journaling I chose: <i>Chapters</i>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: left;">Officially this is my first art journal page in the legendary Moleskine journal (<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Watercolour-A3-Moleskine-Srl/dp/8862931972/ref=pd_rhf_se_shvl6">Moleskine Watercolour A3</a>). The one year anniversary of receiving this gift is swiftly approaching, so I forced myself to use it or sell it unopened. Unintentionally I was saving this journal for when I become a 'real artist.' I'm not sure I'll ever achieve this status, so I decided to just open it and start nonetheless. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Common advice for novice art journalers suggests to start in the middle or the back of the journal, so as to not get intimidated by the first dreaded blank page. </div><div style="text-align: left;">It took guts, but I did start on the 1st page telling myself to just experiment and not try to create 'art.' I wanted this to be a place to jot down notes, color combinations, sketches, etc. ...or so I thought.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">This page was an eye-opener for me in that I learned the following about myself: </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">*It is <i>extremely</i> difficult for me to create one-dimensional artwork; It must be carry-over from traditional scrapbook pages where I delight in layering embellishments and other 3D items. </div><div style="text-align: left;">If other pages are thick like this one, I'll be in trouble because this journal won't close.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">*I'm a perfectionist for details. When all is said and done, I want my art journal to have 'art' that expresses my current level of ability and vision, not my grocery list and/or sketches.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">*The layering of paint, glazes and mediums makes me happy...as much as patterned paper in scrapbooking :)</div><div style="text-align: left;">*** *** *** ***</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>The meaning of this art work:</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><br />
</b></div><div style="text-align: left;">Years ago, when my beekeeper father still lived in the USA, he had placed a mail order for a queen bee with her swarm. I happened to be watching out the window when the UPS boy delivered it. With his face contorted by terror (see below photo of the St. Martyr for a likeness), and his arm carrying the small, buzzing crate marked 'LIVE bees' stretched as far away from his body as humanly possible, he dropped off the box by the front door, rang the doorbell, and was <i>running</i> for his life back to the UPS truck. It was so comical at the moment, as I could almost read his toughts: "WTF! I did not sign up for THIS!" </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Fast forward to the present. Recently I got this Lamy fountain pen. The package design intrigued me, because it was designed as a box for a live animal with the slits on the sides to allow air circulation (I've used the actual product packaging on my page). </div><div style="text-align: left;">This pen box design brought back the memory of the similar 'LIVE bees' crate. Then the brilliance of this design struck me! The pen, the ink, and the resulting written words are truly a living entity! Words have the power to start a revolution, to inspire, to lead, to teach, to console, to make one fall in love. Hence the analogy that: "<i>Words are to weapon as bee is to sting</i>." This is a reminder to myself to '<i>choose my weapon</i>' in art (whether scrapbooking or art journaling) which without a doubt is journaling.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Šį tą a pie save išmokau: Pirma kad man tiesiog neįmanomai sunku tiktai piešti bei gaminti plokščius kūrinius; norisi iškylų, 3D efektų, įvairios technikos.
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Irma</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Papildyta (Darbo eiga):</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Kadangi komentaruose užmačiau prašymų plačiau aprašyti darbo eigą, paaiškinsiu išsamiau:</span><br />
<br />
<ol style="text-align: left;"><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Pirmiausia pagrindą reikia paruošti gruntu 'gesso' - jį būtina uždažyti ant viso lapo.</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Priklijuojama koliažas - plėšyti senos knygos lapai vartojant mediumą <i>po</i> ir <i>ant</i> atraižų paviršiaus. Geriausias mediumas šiam darbui yra GOLDEN firmos "Matte Medium". Kadangi bandau suvartoti tai ką turiu vartojau Liquitex firmos 'Gloss medium". "Gloss" yra blizgus: privalumas kad blizgus mediumas = spalvos intensyvesnės; matinis mediumas- numuša spalvų sodrumą/intensyvumą. Skonio reikalas ;)</span></li>
Apie šią techniką seniau aprašiau ScrapManijoj, <a href="http://www.scrapmanija.com/20090116-416">čia linkas</a>. Ta pat darbo eiga: užtepi pastą su kreditine kortele. Plono sluoksnio pakanka. Vietomis jei užtepiau per daug štampavimas nepavyko, bet tada nubraukiu ir vėl bandau...panašu čia į torto tepimą kremu :) Šį kartą štampavau su guminiu antspauduku sudrėkintu vandeniu (kad mediumas nepriliptų). Šiam efektui yra <i>būtina</i> vartoti grubesnio rašto štampą kadangi kuo daugiau detalių, tuo labiau mediumas prilips prie antspaudo.</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Kada faktūros mediumas išdžiuvo, tada pradėjau dažyti geltonais dažais. Verta paminėti kad tas pats 'gloss medium'- blizgus mediumas kada esa sumaišomas su akriliniais dažais, užtepa permatomą sluoksnį dažų lyg akvarelė. Praverčia kada daug spalvų sluoksnuojama. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">O geriausias 'šių metų atradimas' man asmeniškai tai buvo išbandymas spausdinti ant vieno sluoksnio servetėlės. Ši technika pavaizduojama vienos eilutės tekstu. Atspausdinant servetėlę reikia būti labai atsargiam kadangi lengvai plyšta. Rankos turi būti švarios (-) klijų ar mediumų. Teptuku pabrauki tą vietą kur žadi klijuoti servetėlę; servetėlę priklijuoji pradedant nuo vieno kampo ir pirštais prispaudi iki kito galo. Servetėlę priklijavus, stropiai užtepi mediumo kad galutinai priklijuoti. Nepatartina daug kartų braukyti teptuku kadangi suplyš. Kada išdžiūsta, atspausdintas tekstas rodos kad atliktas nutrinamom 'rub-on' raidėm....servetėlės žymių nelieka.

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It took me about a year to complete, since I was working on it only when I was watching movies with my hubby. It's such a brainless, repetitive task that's it's extremely therapeutic to do. Another benefit is that I don't feel guilty for wasting time watching TV if I'm multitasking. This is proof positive that a stitch at a time, while not seemingly much, adds up to a completed project. </div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #cc0000;">*</span>Now that I'm done with this, I need another project to do while watching movies. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Below is the technique of how I made the hot air balloons</b>:</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2-KtzLAIBBjE700InrVF4nVuX8_-OceVP0O4bmd7pscMfCqDOO9YNjbMZ0PI6rKa3IOVdjoNTtYjuwrLK3JMew9kF-6CCGGW4Hf5HxXmfnYGsVmSNAxFXvACYzIlqBXumyGWUu70wjw/s1600/IMG_8743.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2-KtzLAIBBjE700InrVF4nVuX8_-OceVP0O4bmd7pscMfCqDOO9YNjbMZ0PI6rKa3IOVdjoNTtYjuwrLK3JMew9kF-6CCGGW4Hf5HxXmfnYGsVmSNAxFXvACYzIlqBXumyGWUu70wjw/s400/IMG_8743.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>*I've used a hot air balloon stamp by Studio Calico.<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"></div><ol style="text-align: left;"><li>The 1st layer is stamped in black and heat embossed with embossing powder on off-white card stock.</li>
<li>Next, since I did not have pink-red striped patterned paper, I had to improvise and stamp with a striped rubber stamp to make my own striped patterned paper.</li>
<li>After stamping the stripes with red-pink dye ink, I again stamped the hot air balloon image over the stripes, and heat embossed it with black powder.</li>
<li>Finally, I simply cut out the circular balloon shape, popped it on dimensional foam dots and placed it over the first stamped layer. And now you have a 3D accent to add dimension to your page!</li>
</ol><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg_ALgRRSW4eX1oCOhc-cSNsS_6qG-XYDuIcKnSYJ744y3O40CEv2vzaG8If19a7Sfd-qtxuADHs_H6QRqLDnb-DWub1cJ7CVzJzP5sS3v4JMaL8MNWL1YlNuKNBDDoDUTK44lm1FOQQ/s1600/ID+balloons.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg_ALgRRSW4eX1oCOhc-cSNsS_6qG-XYDuIcKnSYJ744y3O40CEv2vzaG8If19a7Sfd-qtxuADHs_H6QRqLDnb-DWub1cJ7CVzJzP5sS3v4JMaL8MNWL1YlNuKNBDDoDUTK44lm1FOQQ/s400/ID+balloons.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">*The single topmost (smaller) hot air balloon is a chipboard by <a href="http://www.imaginariumdesigns.com.au/products/shapes">Imaginarium Designs</a>. I 'dressed it up' with creamy white paint, glitter stamping, and coloring with a blue glitter pen, and also a gold-leafing pen. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><b>About the journaling:</b><br />
This page presented me with a dilemma; The design of it claimed its 'white space' on the left side, and demanded that I do <i>not</i> fill it up. However, there was a substantial story I needed to tell about a recent event.<br />
My solution has been a reliable one in quite a few situations such as this - type the journaling on a separate piece of card stock, staple a 'pull' tab, and place it behind the layout in the album's page protector. This method lets me tell the whole story without having to cut it short for a preset journaling spot, or the design limitations imposed on me by the available space left on the layout. This way I get to play and get carried away with design of the layout, but also guarantee that the story is recorded in its entirety.<br />
