Title: Waiting for Baba
This sketch over at Pencil Lines is brought to us by Melissa Kennedy. As soon as I saw it, I knew I can dig up plenty of 4x6" photos, and whip this page out in an hour.
A bit about my layout. The photo is of my boys waiting, and seeing the car of their dad coming home from work.
Lots of symbolism here: the King of Hearts card represents the "king" of our house; the clock and clock gear represents time spent waiting for dad. The chipboard button with a photo of a house- obviously, dad coming home.
The masking technique for the stars was done by sticking office-supply star stickers and using a stippling brush and pigment ink pad. The surface of the foundation paper with the embossed houses was sanded to reveal the white core and outline the definition of the houses' shapes. The polka dot star was done by gluing a cardstock star to vintage fabric, and cutting along the star shape.
Thanks for looking!
