Title: "the shot" is always an outtake
Since I did not wish to crush the cascades of silk fabric, I placed 3x stacked foam dots on each of the 4 corners of the photo.
The lacy edges of the black cardstock were achieved with a border punch; Metal hardware for title is from Tim Holtz's Ideology line.
This layout was inspired by the current Pencil Lines sketch 171 here. I was fairly faithful in following the sketch with the exception of changing the placement of the title.

I'll start by stating that I am in awe of successful childrens' photographers. No amount of prepping or planning in advance, will guarantee a decent photoshoot. I jump, try to make them laugh, but alas, my kids are never interested in staged photo shoots. I really want to maintain the tradition of taking Holiday/Christmas photos next to the tree each year, but I'm dealing with unyelding participants :) This shoot was typical in that I wasn't getting what I envisioned. Just as I was wrapping it up in frustration, Adam said in his sweetest voice: "Mama, done?", and then he made this angelic face and put his head on the armrest of the chair. I reacted like a cheetah to get this shot. I guess the moral here is always be ready, because "the shot" will happen when you give up.
Sincerely, thank you for looking!
