I really like the large background Dots and Stripes stamp from Hero Arts (featured above). It reminded me of falling rain drops. What better way to get myself out of a winter funk, than to make a spring-themed layout.
Technique: I've used clear embossing powder resist technique. I stamped the image twice, stacking it on top of each other to get this 12" long border. Then I've used a wash of watercolors (green, blue and a touch of yellow). The clear embossed stamped areas resisted the watercolors. I sewed on glass beads in some areas to further accentuate the falling rain theme. Further, I hand-stitched a vine, and punched butterflies from different glitter paper as well as vellum to give the layout a breezy, crisp, fresh and ethereal feel to it.
