Title: Adam the Shredder
So I had a few days to do an assignment for CK, however the technique which CK requested to be showcased did not work out for these photos. Not wanting to put these pictures away, I challenged myself to do a layout with really old scrapbook supplies.
The patterned paper here (K & Company) is from a by gone scrapbooking era, yet it's my favorite for boy pages. Each paper in the collection is reminiscent of newspaper and magazine clippings. It's perfect for the theme of this layout - a boy who has itchy fingernails to shred and remove labels from just about anywhere. The library has even called to complain that the scan code labels have been removed: Oh boy! is right ;)
Techniques: I glued the crayon paper shreds to a vellum frame that I ripped open. I melted a red crayon with a mini iron for messy drip effect. The bottom red paper frill fringe is curled to show the shreds better. The airplane title-banner was stitched to give it more 3D texture. The black mesh is a very wide punchinella (sequin waste). I added some random brads and buttons for more scattered mess appeal.
Thanks for looking!
