A scraplift titled 'Bliss-full'

Title: Bliss-full
*a scrap-lift of Jodie @ Sweet Vintage 'The Reasons'...

I had Jodie's layout in my flickr favorites for years, but was too intimidated to attempt to pull off such a busy, layered page - my default style seems to be more understated. I think Jodie is a master of this home-spun patchwork quilt pattern on her backgrounds; She's able to put so much 'stuff' on her pages, yet it still manages to not overwhelm the eyes or the photo.
By far, this was the most difficult page for me to put together. I nearly changed my course of action to a more minimalist one on three occasions. But it is good for artistic growth to step out of my 'comfort zone' of techniques and tried-and-true styles of scrapbooking.

My little one Adam (in the photo) gave it his seal of approval. He sneaked into my art room as I was heat embossing the clouds, watched very intently and asked me very appropriate, insightful questions for a 4 year old (I swear he has an artistic gene in him!), then he exclaimed: "Mama, you are a GREAT artist!"
That just made my day :):):) My hubby always reminds me that this hobby {scrapbooking} is all for me.... that there's a chance the boys won't appreciate it when they grow up. Yet, I'm holding on to a small grain of hope that Adam might treasure our family albums.

Thanks for stopping by,
Irma

Your pages always display a strong sense of balance. Great job! ps: I'll bet the kids when grown will appreciate the love you put into the pages even if they neither develops an appreciation for the craft.

Man patinka!
