Title: delivery x 2
"...it feels like a gust of wind blowing inside your heart. It feels like bright yellow paint."
(lithuanian translation: "Toks jausmas, lyg vėjo šuoras praūžė giliai širdyje. Toks jausmas, lyg viskas aplinkui nusidažė skaisčiai geltonomis spalvomis."
For this challenge I dare you to use a quote, a mantra, credo or a positive affirmation.
The quote I used for my piece, although not specifically about the birth of a child, nevertheless, upon reading it, these words succinctly summed up the overwhelming scope of feelings in my heart, just moments before hearing the first cries of my babies'. It truly is like everything washes over in bright yellow light and your heart bursts from happiness.
These photos are taken on two different births. I had a Cesarean section with both of my sons. In the first photo, I'm trying to hold it together and not cry--it was just seconds before they pulled Omar out of my belly. In the second photo, I look more relaxed and confident as I knew what to expect, this being my second C-section.
The benefit of having a camera in the operating room is not only the increased chance of having these precious photos, but it also gave my husband something to do, an assignment that took the focus of the nerves. He was quite nervous during the 1st birth, lucky for me he just kept shooting pictures :)
Here are the rules of the challenge:
