CSI: Case File No.25

Title: Our 1st Home

Case No.25 is yet another page for the guest designer spot I'm featured on over at CSI (Color Stories Inspiration). This must be one of the most simplistic and minimalist pages that I've done in the history of my scrapbooking endeavors.
The 'Testimony' portion of Case No.25 prompted me to: "*Document your home, and *Tell the history of something." For this page I chose to document the history of how we got our first house, and the emotions felt at that time. The polaroid was provided to us by the real-estate agent as we were touring homes, and I held on to it until it asked me to document its history.

Here is the inspiration board for Case No.25 [click on it to enlarge]...

CSI: Case File No.23

Title: 'B' is for 'bride to be'
Pavadinimas: Būsimoji nuotaka

This photo of me was taken on October 7, 2001 - a day before my wedding on the ocean shore of Kauai, Hawaii. The picture was taken with my 1st SLR 35mm film camera (I feel vintage just saying that :):), so I had to scan the film negative into a digital file and then print it.
Below you'll see how I got around the issue of not having enough space to journal. I typed it up on a separate piece of paper and attached a 'pull' tab; This way when I place this letter behind the layout in the page protecktor, it'll be easy to pull it out and read it....

Cross-Stitched Poppies (finally framed!)

So I've been a lazy blogger or scrapper in general. I don't want to have this blog of mine sit idle, therefore I figured I'll post a short update on how the poppies which I've stitched and shown you on a previous post, got framed.
It was not easy to pick out appropriate frames, and I really did not care for the sample framing option included in the kit's photo...

I think the black frames really overpowered the delicacy of the poppies, and the salmon colored matting, just washed out the redness of the flowers.

I'm glad with my choice of weathered, unpolished frame and a green fabric-linen covered matting. It adds to the organic feel of the subject matter - the poppies. My photo does not adequately show the roughness of the frames, but I have to be careful I don't get a splinter handling these frames!

What do you think of my choice? I hope you let me know,
P.S. I've got them framed at Pat Catan's Craft Center (which I think is regional only to Ohio?)

Irma

CSI.Case File No.22

Title: Treasure
Pavadinimas: Brangenybės

Imagine my surprise when Debbi Tehrani of CSI: Color Stories Inspiration asked me to be their guest designer for the month of June. Of course I said 'Yes!,' and got busy creating the assigned case files for the month.

*My 'Special CSI Investigator' interview is featured here.
*To see what other designers have done with this Casea file No.22, please click here.

The page above is an interpretation of Case File No.22. I had to derive my inspiration from the story board and the color palette below...

'Margi Dalykai' blogo autorė Sarma surengė vasariškas atiduotuves. Negalėjau atsispirti nesudalyvavus ;) Juk toks saldus bei skaniai atrodantis vasariškas papuošalas.
