Title: it's falling gratitude
***I'm reposting this layout on March 22, 2011; It has been published in the November 2010 issue of Scrapbook Trends magazine.
Every page I begin starts with the same process: Pick photos, than a color combination. Usually I pull my colors from the photos, and this was the route I was going with this time. I found these Hambly stickers in my stash, with the little tree (bottom right) as my guiding color inspiration. I though it'll be the perfect complement for the yellows, oranges and browns in my photos. Except for the teal/aqua, huh?!.... Which I never would associate with the warm hues of fall. Lucky for me, this made me get out of my comfort zone and try to incorporate teal as a cooler tone among all the warm hues.
Lucky coincidence perhaps, that I still had the perfect shade of teal home-made misting spray from this layout. I think I spent more time trying to prevent the Bazzill paper from warping after the spraying, than actually assembling this page ...for real ;) I tried ironing the page, putting it under a rug with a heavy object on top, heat gun, bending it in opposite directions and a few other attempts. I couldn't salvage that page, but lucky for me I tried the Arches cold pressed 140 lb. water color paper and it did not warp one bit.
Thanks for looking!

Wonderful LO, I simply love trees! You won't believe it, but last week I made an album cover using the Hambly tree too, although mine was a rub-on. Keep making wonders! XOXO
Kaip gerai, kad parodei ir makro nuotraukas. Tas medis pasakiškas! Labai norėčiau kada nors liftinti. Viskas labai patinka, negaliu atsigrožėti :) O tas teal atspalvis čia net labai gerai žiūrisi prie šiltų spalvų.
Šitas skrebukas man toks gražus... Neįmanoma nepastebėti. Bet kurioje galerijoje išsiskirs savo spalvų ryškumu...
I love this so much. I saw it in the Creative Type slideshow and had to track you down! It's stunning!
