Kuretake DT work and CSI Case 15

Title: Nirvana on the Wings of Bees...
Pavadinimas: Nirvana {pasiekiama} ant Bičių Sparnų...

I made this mixed-media page for Kuretake's design team prompt to make blossoms using Kuretake pens. As well, this layout is also made for the Color Stories Inspiration (CSI) Case No. 15.

First, a few close-ups...

The honey comb pattern was made using modeling paste and a rubber stamp. After the paste had hardened, the honey comb was painted with acrylic paint. Also, you can see a close-up of the multi-layered linden tree blossom which I had made for the Kuretake challenge.
Below is a tutorial on how to make such bossoms...

The materials you need for this project are:
  1. Kuretake marker of choice (I've used a green, shimmery 'Wink of Stella marker).
  2. Flower punch in small, various sizes (the one shown in the photo is by Martha Stewart Crafts).
  3. Cardstock
  4. Flower stamen (floral deptartment of craft stores).
  5. Large diameter needle or yawl
  6. Round-tip stylus
  7. Scissors
  8. Glue
  9. Mouse pad
Here are the steps involved in the making of these linden tree blossoms:
  1. Punch out the desired number of blossoms from cardstock, set aside.
  2. Snip the end of the doube stamen, and color the entire stamen green. Also, at this time color the blossom centers with green sunburst pattern.
  3. Place the blossoms on a mousepad, and with a round-tip stylus press and roll from center out to each petal, thereby giving the flower dimension.
  4. Next, layer the blossoms, from large to small on top, and when centered pierce a hole in the center with the needle/yawl.
  5. Thread the stamen through the layers of blossoms, and flip over so you are looking at the underside of the blossom.
  6. Place a drop of glue with a tip of your needle/yawl to the underside of the blossom where the stamen meets the bud. Let dry.

I hope you find this tutorial useful, let me know!

As I've mentioned, this layout was also created for CSI no.15 with the following palette and prompts:

Besides the given color scheme, I've also used for the 'Evidence':

*Metal (bee charm and metal wire as one wood see in the honey comb frames beekeepers use).
*Zig-zag (stitching to hold the tiny alpha stickers).
*Stacking/layers (layers of mixed media and 3D embellishment clusters)
*Foliage (Linden tree foliage print on the journaling notecard as well as hand-made flowers and leaves).

For the 'testimony' section of the journaling I chose: Chapters.
I've shared my recollections of my beekeeper father and his bee chronicles that were given to me in chapters and stories.

Koks skanus man tas "medaus" paliejimas skrebuko apačioje... mmm...

Niu kaip man patinka sitie tavo skrebukai is biciu/medaus serijos! Pasaka. Labai gerai atrodo ir medus, ir "medinis" skrebuko pagrindas, ir "liepziedziai". O labiausiai zaviuosi tavo sugebejimu rasyti aprasymus - atvirai, drasiai ir nebarstant cukriuku.
